Cherry’s Arabic background has made her acutely aware of the cultural cross connections evident in Canterbury Cathedral. Its strong colours, geometric decorations and pointed architecture all stem from centuries old contacts with other worlds. The wealth of intricate pattern, bold shape and bright colour reappear in her domestic and studio pottery. The pots are made and fired at Cherry’s home in Canterbury and are a celebration of patterns encountered across the world
